Alice F. Papendorf, age 82 of West Bend, WI formerly of Marion, WI passed away Monday afternoon, February 13, 2017 at Ivy Manor in West Bend.

Alice Papendorf was born on December 21, 1934 as the ninth of 12 children from Louisville, Illinois.  Her parents were DeWitt and Ruby Hagen.  Alice contracted polio in late 1952 when she was a senior in high school. Following high school, Alice attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston to complete a 2-year teaching degree. She met her husband, Arnold, in August 1958. They were married on June 1, 1959, and she moved to Caroline, Wisconsin, where Arnold lived. After her husband died in a farming accident Alice enrolled at UW-Stevens Point to continue her college education, obtaining a BS in Education in 1989. Alice then obtained a full-time position teaching on the Rosebud Indian Reservation. For the next 9 years, she taught kindergarten at a rural K-8 school in He Dog, South Dakota. Following retirement in 1999, she returned to Tigerton, Wisconsin to live.  Alice lived her life for her Heavenly Father.  She loved the work of the gospel and the ministers that carried forth His word.  Alice had many friends because of her faith and cherished time spent with them, her bible and fellowship together.

Survivors include:

Her Daughter: Rachel (Rick) Fox.

Sons: Neil (Dawn) Papendorf.

          Stanley (Brenda) Papendorf.

          Murray (Charla) Papendorf.

Grandchildren: Nathan Papendorf, Heather (Brian) Boyle, Hannah (Brian) Harper, Marleah (Tim) Knighton, Steven Papendorf, Alan (Tara) Papendorf, Eric Papendorf, Brendan Papendorf, Laura (Adam) Hoyt, Austin Fox, Annessa Fox, Elliot Papendorf, & Emerson Papendorf.

Great-Grandchildren: Cheyanna, Adaya, & Kinsley.

Sister: Mary Lou Harbert.

Brothers: Richard, Henry Alan, & Carl Hagen.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Lois “Jewel” Zimdars, Anna May Krutsinger, & Lillian Jones, and brothers; Harvey, Warren, David, & Lubert Hagen.

Alice’s funeral service will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11 AM at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, 53 N. Main Street, Clintonville, WI 54929 with Mr. Perry Pearson & Ms. Gwen Aarestad officiating. Interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery in Marion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 – 8 PM and again at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 AM until the time of the service. www.eberhardtstevenson.com
