Arleen L. Poppe, age 73, of the Town of Deer Creek, passed away January 18, 2015 at Arwyn Poppe’s home.
Arleen Loval Poppe was born July 17, 1941, the fifth child of Herbert F. Poppe and Irma O. (Pribbernow). She was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church, Bear Creek, WI on August 31 that year, and confirmed on December 22, 1985. Arleen had many interests including crafts, puzzles, and traveling. She loved going to Keller’s Lake and having shrimp at Perkin’s. She was quite a dancer and showed her skills whenever the Chicken Dance was played. For the last 9 years, she had been staying with her special sister-in-law, Arwyn Poppe who had cared for her. She had previously lived at Maple Lane in Shawano, and with her parents in Bear Creek. Arleen will always be remembered as a loving person who gave wonderful hugs.

Her brother: Alfred (Sharon) Poppe, New London
Her special sister-in-law: Arwyn Poppe, Bear Creek
Her brother-in-law: Bill Handrich, Clintonville
Many nieces and nephews.
Arleen was preceded in death by, her parents, a brother Ruben, and a sister Ruth Handrich.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, January 21 at Grace Lutheran Church, Bear Creek with the Rev. Dr. Paul Alliet officiating. Interment to follow at Danish Cemetery, Town of Deer Creek in the spring.
Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 AM until the time of the service.
Arleen’s family would like to thank Phil and Barb at Affinity Hospice, the staff at Washington Center, New London, and Dr. Marie Weber for all of their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Grace Lutheran Church Building Fund, or to Keller’s Handicap Camping Project.
