Arlene Lydia Erickson

Arlene L. Erickson, age 83 of Neenah, passed away early Tuesday morning March 3, 2015 at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton.

Arlene Lydia Erickson was born March 15, 1931 in the Township of Black Creek, the daughter of the late Charlie and Henrietta (Purath) Rihm. After her schooling was complete, Arlene worked at Outagamie Cheese, Tasty Bakery, and was a housekeeper at Relein Farms. In 1951, she went on a blind date with Neil Erickson and the couple got married on December 6, 1952. She worked hard alongside her husband on the farm all while raising their seven children. In addition to her own children, Arlene raised three of her grandchildren. Arlene was proud that she was able to travel the U.S. with Neil when he was a delegate with Assoc. Milk Producers Inc. She loved to work in her large garden that contained almost everything that can be grown here in Wisconsin; and canned the bounty from her garden. She took pride in taking care of her animals, especially her chickens, selling the eggs all over town. She was always available to split wood to help get ready for winter. When it was meal time around the farm nobody ever went hungry, as Arlene was a terrific cook.  Arlene will always be remembered as a loving, hardworking mom with a positive outlook on life. She is loved, and she will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Neil, a daughter-in-law Kathy, two sisters, and a brother.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday, March 6, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, Larsen, WI with the Rev. Dan Luett officiating. Friends may call on Friday at the church from 12 PM until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Larsen following the service.
