Arthur Earl Meidam

Arthur “Art” E. Meidam, age 93, of Clintonville, passed away Thursday July 21, 2016 at home with his family by his side.

Arthur Earl Meidam was born January 14, 1923 in Bear Creek to Arthur Sr. & Anna (Jorgenson) Meidam. Art was baptized, confirmed, and a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bear Creek. He attended school at Bear Creek Elementary, Nicholson Parochial School, and graduated from Bear Creek High School in 1940. He married Bernice Koehler on September 6, 1947 at St. John’s, Town of Deer Creek. They farmed on their farm in Bear Creek until 1970, when they moved to Clintonville where he continued to work and retired from the Four-Wheel Drive.

Art is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Bernice; 3 children: Lowell (Rita) Meidam, Darla (Bruce) Galland, & Lorna (Roger) Mathison; 7 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; & 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He is further survived by a sister, Gladys Lorenz; a sister-in-law, Leila Krueger, & many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Lucille (Lyle) Wendt & Beatrice (Pete) Starchaska; brother-in-law, Paul Lorenz; son-in-law, Roger Anderson; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Elda & Kenneth Conradt, Frieda & Walter Volz, Eunice & Chet Heiman, & brother-in-law, Lawrence Krueger. Also a great-granddaughter, Briana Meidam.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, July 25, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Township of Bear Creek, with the Rev. Michael Stock officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Township of Bear Creek.

Friends may call on Monday at the church from 9 AM until the time of the service.

Art’s family would like to give special thanks to ThedaCare at Home to Debbie and ThedaCare Hospice to Kristy & Joleen, for all their love and care given to Art and the rest of the family.
