Delbert H. Owen, Sr., age 102 of Clintonville, WI passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Pine Manor Health Care Center in Embarrass, WI.

Delbert was born in Elan, WI on April 29, 1914, the child of the late Elmer and Lela (Meverden) Owen. He grew up in Shawano, WI as the third oldest child of seventeen children. He was first married to Ruth Miller and had a daughter, Dixie Ann (Queen), the couple later divorced while Delbert served in the Navy during WWII. He met Mary (Wingfield) and the couple were later united in marriage. Delbert worked as a carpenter for the Carpenters Union local 80 in Chicago for 60+ years and built his home in Lombard, IL. He had two children, Donna S. & Delbert, Jr. His wife Mary preceded him in death on September 18, 1968. In 1976 he married Norma Krueger Behnke and lived with her for 40 years in Clintonville until her passing on March 18, 2016. Delbert was a faithful member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville.  In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking projects and spending time with family.

His Daughter: Dixie Ann (Gordon) Queen.

Granddaughters: Kelli, Victoria, Erin, & Beth.

Great-Grandchildren: Jason, Brandon, Myles, Bryce, Nate, Zach, Madelyn, Mya, Kate, & Hannah.

Great-Great-Grandchild: Eli.

His Daughter: Donna Oehlberg.

Granddaughter: Andrea R (Patrick) Kelm.

Great-Grandchildren: Jonathan M, Alexandrea R, twins: Briana R & Patrick J.

Granddaughter: Krista M (Andrew) Behles.

Great-Grandchildren: Tristin M, Analyse M, Haley M, & Andrew J.

His Son: Delbert “Del” H. Owen, Jr.

His Step-Children: Carolyn (Robert) Lehman & Merlin (Janet) Behnke, and their families.

His Sisters: Mildred Owen, Ethel (Ron) Yokes, & Mary (late Victor) Rizzo.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, his second wife; Mary, his third wife; Norma, 8 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Delbert’s funeral service will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 12 PM at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Christian Burg officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville with military honors conducted by members of the Clintonville American Legion Post #63, VFW Post #664, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #63. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.
