Dorothea Ursula Susana (Schoenrock) Jannusch

Dorothea U. Jannusch, age 90 of Marion, passed away Friday afternoon, March 3, 2017, at ThedaCare Medical Center, New London after a short illness.

Dorothea Ursula Susanna Schoenrock Dalum Jannusch was born September 3, 1926 in Birnamwood, WI, the daughter of the late Herman & Minna (Krueger) Schoenrock. She attended Birnamwood High School, where she worked half-days in her junior year for the principal and in her senior year she worked half-days at Mortensen Insurance Agency. Following graduation in 1944, she moved to Chicago and worked for the U.S. Army, Ordinance Division. While visiting home, she met Herbert Dalum; the two were married on May 2, 1946 and settled in Marion. Herbert preceded Dorothea in death on July 4, 1958 after a struggle with M.S. She later married Raymond Jannusch on July 12, 1968. Dorothea worked for Miller Insurance Agency for 29 years, after which she operated her own agency, Doray Insurance. She sold that business to help take care of her daughter who was also struggling with M.S. She was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marion where she taught Sunday school for many years. Dorothea also belonged to the Disabled American Veteran’s Auxiliary Chapter 53.

Son: Dan (De) Dalum, Appleton, WI

Granddaughter: Elizabeth Case, San Antonio, TX

Great-granddaughter: Andrea Case, San Antonio, TX 

She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband Herbert, a husband, Raymond; a daughter, Diane Groth; & brother, Werner Schoenrock.

Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marion with the Rev. Brad Dokken officiating. Interment will take place at Greenleaf Cemetery, Marion in the spring.

Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9AM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established by the family.
