Edwin R. Opperman

Edwin R. Opperman, age 71 of the Town of Wyoming, Waupaca County, passed away Sunday morning, May 24, 2015 at the Iola Living Assistance in Iola.

Edwin was born on February 28, 1944 as the son of the late August and Goldie (Marquardt) Opperman-Moen.  He grew up in the Town of Wyoming, west of Big Falls.  Edwin attended grade school in Big Falls and graduated from Marion High School.  After graduating high school he operated a farm for a few years and then worked road construction for Jim Fischer in Appleton for 15 years.  Later Edwin worked for Andy’s Tree Service trimming trees.  He then operated his own stump grinding service for the past 15 years.  Edwin was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Big Falls. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, and playing BABA baseball for Big Falls.

Survivors include:

Aunts & Uncles:  Delores Opperman, Iola; Audrey (Marquardt) and Burton Blomgren, Franksville; Eldora (Marquardt) and Morie Behnke, Clintonville; and Lois Marquardt, Marion.

Also numerous cousins and friends.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, and aunts & uncles; Ruby (Marquardt) and Wallace Kersten, Norman Marquardt, William and Blanch Opperman, Lester Opperman, and Reinholt Opperman.
