Erma D. (Groskruetz) Schram

Erma D. Schram, age 89 of Shawano, formerly of the Town of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, passed away Monday morning July 10, 2017 at Paiser’s Oakhaven in Shawano.

Erma was born on September 6, 1927 in Wautoma as the daughter of the late Gustave and Ella (Gatz) Groskreutz. She was united in marriage to Omar Schram on September 21, 1947 in Wautoma where the couple lived on a farm prior to moving to Wittenberg in 1955. Upon Omar’s retirement in 1985 the couple moved to their retirement home on Pine Lake at the Cloverleaf Lakes in the Town of Belle Plaine, Shawano County. Erma and Omar also enjoyed spending the winter months in Orlando, FL. Omar preceded his wife in death on March 19, 2000. Erma was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass for many years. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends in Wittenberg over the years and in her spare time liked to cook, entertain guests, go out for dinner, crochet afghans, play cards, and spend time on the lake.

Survivors include:

Her Children: Ken (Bev) Schram, Sr., Aniwa; David Schram, Neenah; & Kathy (Wally) Schaub, Eagle, CO.

Grandchildren: Ken (Lisa) Schram, Jr., Merrill; Kevin (Tonya) Schram, Verona; Brenda (Nick) Grams, Omro; Jill (Mike) Kessler, Green Bay; & Renee Schram, Neenah.

Great-Grandchildren: Hannah, Austin, Hunter, Talen, Ava, Brooklyn, Ashlyn, Connor, Elijah, & Elsie.

Also numerous nieces and nephews as well as a very special friend; Janna Aumann.

Erma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Omar, brothers; Arden (Linda), Wilber (Ruth), & Elmer (Ruth) Groskreutz, and a sister; Verna (Vernon) Humphrey.

Funeral services will be held Thursday July 13, 2017 at 11 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass with Rev. Todd Jerabek officiating. Interment will follow at the Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
