Francis "Fran" J. Sagert

June 10, 1962 ~ February 22, 2015 (age 52) 52 Years Old

Francis “Fran” J. Sagert, age 52 of the Town of Matteson, Waupaca County, entered eternal rest with his Lord on Sunday morning, February 22, 2015 at Oakhaven in Shawano.

Fran was born in Green Bay on June 10, 1962 as the son of Liselotte Sagert and the late William Juranitch. He graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1980 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at UW River Falls.  Fran served his country in the United States Army under Special Operations during Desert Storm.  He was united in marriage to Dawn Nylund on October 6, 1990 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Green Bay.  The couple moved to the Town of Matteson in 1995.  Fran was a faithful member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville where he volunteered for the Youth Board, Stewardship Board, taught Sunday School, and was a communion assistant.  He used his Biology Degree during the Fox River PCB cleanup efforts, and worked as a substitute teacher for the Clintonville School District for a number of years.  Fran enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cutting firewood, and taking care of his cats.  He was always willing to help those in need and the love he had for his children went beyond comprehension.     

Survivors include:  His wife:  Dawn.

Children:  Emma (Fiance Matthew Andersen) Sagert & William Sagert, Clintonville.

His mother:  Liselotte Sagert, Shawano.

Brothers & Sisters-in-law including:  Keith (Laurie) Nylund, Sandy, UT.

Also other relatives including: Sharon (Dave) Schaal, Gillett; Lou (Mel) VanDenBerg, Freedom; Shirley Martin, Oconto Falls; & his Godson, Christopher Dexter, Jr., Green Bay.

Fran was preceded in death by his father, a half-brother & a half-sister.

Fran’s funeral service will be held Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11:30 AM at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Christian Burg & Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Martin Lutheran Cemetery in Clintonville where military graveside honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Post #63 and VFW Post #664 of Clintonville.

Friends may call at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville from 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM Sunday and at the church on Monday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.  An online guestbook can be found for Fran at www.eberhardtstevenson.com.
