James "Jim" H. Lindow

James “Jim” H. Lindow, age 77 of Clintonville succumbed to complications of Multiple Myeloma at his home with his family at his side on Friday evening, February 27, 2015.

He was born on April 9th, 1937 in Clintonville and graduated from Clintonville High School in 1954.  He married Darlene Helen Drath on November 5th, 1960; he was the son of the late Ora and Lorna Lindow.  Jim proudly served the United States Navy from 1956-1958 aboard the USS Bennington.  He worked for 41 years for the City of Clintonville in various jobs including Assessor, Treasurer and Building Inspector.  After retiring in 1999, he and his wife Darlene enjoyed visits to Alaska and Hawaii.  He was active in Clintonville Rotary Club, Shawano-Waupaca County Assessors Association, and the Northeast Building Inspectors Association where he held leadership roles.  He was proud to have been honored with lifetime memberships in those associations.  Jim enjoyed being active outdoors.  He was an active bow hunter, turkey hunter and fisherman.  Gardening became a pastime he enjoyed by sharing his bountiful harvest with relatives, friends and neighbors.  Jim was also a fan of the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bucks.  Summertime camping with his six grandchildren gave him great pleasure.  As lifelong member of St. Martins Lutheran Church, he served on numerous committees, most recently as an elder.

He is survived by the love of his life, Darlene, his wife of 54 years; and four children:  Michael, Milwaukee; Brian (Sally), Green Bay; Todd (Lori), Grafton; Craig, Milwaukee.

His grandchildren are Cassidy, Sydney, Mackenzie, Tanner, Taylor, and Kaitlin Lindow.

He is also survived by his brothers Lester (Mary) Lindow, Hemet, CA; Gerald (Mina), Neenah; Kenneth (Carol), Horicon; Roger (Sandy), New London; Bob (Barb), Fort Smith, AR; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Patti Lindow, Benton, AR; Eugene (Bonnie) Rusch, Cecil; Dave (Karen) Hansen, Menasha; James Drath, Manawa; and Franklin Gauerke, Midland, MI.

Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 12 PM at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Christian Burg & Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating.  Military honors will be conducted outside of the church on Tuesday by members of the Clintonville American Legion Post #63 and VFW Post #664.  Interment will take place at the St. Martin Lutheran Cemetery in the spring.

Friends may call at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville on Monday, March 2nd from 4 – 7 PM and at the church on Tuesday from 11 AM until the time of service.  An online guestbook for Jim can be found at www.eberhardtstevenson.com. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated for the American Cancer Society, International Myeloma Society, and St. Martin Lutheran School or Church.
