JoAnn (Mielke) Strong

JoAnn (Mielke) Strong, age 79 of Little Chute, formerly of New London, passed away Sunday morning, December 7, 2014 at her residence. 

 JoAnn was born on August 20, 1935 in Clintonville, the daughter of the late William L. and Lillian S. (Hickman) Mielke. She was raised in the Township of Dupont, Waupaca County. On June 13, 1953 she was united in marriage to Milton R. Strong at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. The couple had lived in Clintonville and later New London. Milton preceded JoAnn in death on January 6, 2005 after 51 years of marriage, JoAnn later moved to Little Chute where she has lived since. She enjoyed gardening, antiques and attending flea markets. She also enjoyed income tax preparation through AARP and was a member of the Fox Valley Phonograph Club.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Milton, her son Steven in 1999, her sister Sharon Klemz and her grandson John Pierce.

 A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:30 P.M. until 2 P.M. Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville with burial to follow at the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the wishes of the family or to St. Jude’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place,
