Martin was born on July 9, 1927 in Clintonville as the son of the late Oscar & Adelia (Boelter) Niemuth. He grew up in Clintonville where he graduated from high school. On March 21, 1959, Martin was united in marriage to Barbara Gretzinger at the Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville where the couple were still current members. Martin then began delivering Christmas trees for Bill Arneson in town before joining Clintonville Distributing as a beer salesman in the mid 1960s. When the business changed hands years later he began working in Shawano for Travis Distributing and later for Miller Distributing; retiring in the mid 1990s. Martin loved to spend time camping with family and friends on his property along the Embarrass River.
