Martin A.O. Niemuth, age 89 of Clintonville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, March 4, 2017 at the Aster Retirement Community in Clintonville.

Martin was born on July 9, 1927 in Clintonville as the son of the late Oscar & Adelia (Boelter) Niemuth. He grew up in Clintonville where he graduated from high school. On March 21, 1959, Martin was united in marriage to Barbara Gretzinger at the Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville where the couple were still current members. Martin then began delivering Christmas trees for Bill Arneson in town before joining Clintonville Distributing as a beer salesman in the mid 1960s. When the business changed hands years later he began working in Shawano for Travis Distributing and later for Miller Distributing; retiring in the mid 1990s. Martin loved to spend time camping with family and friends on his property along the Embarrass River. He was a member of the Clintonville Curling Club in his younger years and enjoyed traveling with family. Martin’s outgoing and friendly personality will certainly be missed.

Survivors include: His Wife: Barbara.

Children: Doug (Cheryl) Niemuth, Thorpe; Julie (Dave) Buck, Green Bay; & Kay (Mark) Maloney, Weston.

Grandchildren: Jenessa (Jim) Potrowski, Jon (Kacie) Niemuth, Jillana (Michael) Carter, Kyle (Sara) Krueger, Kim (Ryan) Briske, Chris Maloney, & Rachel Maloney.

Great-Grandchildren: Harrison & Logan Carter, Kinley Niemuth, and Nora Krueger.

Sisters: Virginia Piehl, Clintonville & Betty Klarner, Black Creek.

A Brother: Roland (Melba) Niemuth, Richland, WA.

Brothers-in-law & Sisters-in-law: Diane Niemuth, Little Chute; Elaine Hurley, Watertown; Robert Howard, Milwaukee; & Nancy Gretzinger, New London.

Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents, brother Don and infant brother James, a sister Shirley Stern, also numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Martin’s funeral service will be held Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 11 AM at the Christus Lutheran Church, 120 N. Main Street, Clintonville with Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Interment will follow at the Graceland Cemetery also in Clintonville. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established by Martin’s family. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting his family with the arrangements.
