Ruby E. (Lehman) Niemuth

Ruby E. Niemuth, age 96 of the Township of Dupont, Waupaca County, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, June 22, 2016 at the Thedacare Regional Medical Center in Appleton.

Ruby was born on November 28, 1919 at home in Tigerton to the late Adolph and Marie (Kersten) Lehman. She was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Tigerton and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Dupont. Ruby attended parochial school at St. John Lutheran School in Tigerton, grade school in Kenosha, Pioneer School in Dupont, and High School in Marion. She married the love of her life, Harold Niemuth, on June 28, 1938 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marion. The couple lived all of their married life on the family farm in Dupont. Ruby was a current member at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Dupont where she served as a janitor for many years, taught Sunday School, and was a lifetime member of the Ladies Aid; helping with many funeral luncheons and other group activities. In her younger years, Ruby was an excellent left handed bowler; bowling in leagues in both Clintonville and Marion. She also had fun playing dartball for the Marion Community Senior Citizen League. Ruby was a member of the Dupont Homemakers Club, as well as the Dupont Card Club for many years. She enjoyed reading in her spare time and was an avid sheepshead player. She really liked her cards and wouldn’t go anywhere without her nickel money pouch in anticipation of a possible game.

Survivors include:

Her Children: Donna Beyer, Karen Niemuth, William (Pat) Niemuth, Thomas Niemuth, & Joseph (Gemma) Niemuth.

A Son-in-Law: Tom Schewe.

14 Grandchildren, 25 Great-Grandchildren, & 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Also Sisters-in-law: Linda & Annie Lehman.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold; a daughter Nancy Schewe; a son-in-law Robert Beyer; a grandson James Niemuth; a grandson-in-law Daniel Goodreau; great-granddaughters Theresa & Christine Beyer; a sister Eileen (Hollis) Sether; brothers Eugene (Edna), Reinhard (Geraldine), Vilas, & Vernon Lehman; sister-in-law Mildred Gluth; and a special friend Lester Bork.

Ruby’s funeral service will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Dupont with Rev. Brad Dokken officiating. Interment will follow at Roseland Cemetery also in the Town of Dupont. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Sunday at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Marion and at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
