Vincent G. Artz

Vincent G. Artz, age 84 of Clintonville, formerly of the Township of Lebanon, Waupaca County, passed away Wednesday morning, February 3, 2016 at the Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clintonville.

Vincent was born on September 17, 1931 in the Town of Lebanon as the son of the late Edward and Kathryn (Martin) Artz. Vincent graduated from Manawa High School in 1949 and at age 25 was called into service with the United States Army.  After being discharged, Vincent returned home and farmed his family’s homestead in the Town of Lebanon.  On September 25, 1971 he was united in marriage to Rose Lueck at the St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville.  Vincent continued farming until 1996 and moved off the farm in 2014.  In 2015 he moved to Clintonville where he and Rose have resided at the Aster Retirement Community.  Vincent was a life-long member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in the Town of Lebanon where he served on the parish cemetery board.  He also served as a volunteer with the Town of Lebanon Fire Department for a number of years.  Vincent collected antiques as well as key chains, and loved to shop rummage sales.  He also took pride in taking care of his farm equipment and looked forward to driving his tractor in the parade each year.   

Survivors include: His wife of 44 years: Rose.

Daughters: Mary (Brad) Rodgers, Gillett & Kay Acevedo, Clintonville.

Sons: Marty Artz, Manawa & Joe (Katrina) Artz, Bear Creek.

Grandchildren: Noah & Sydney Artz, Alex & Brandon Rodgers, and Zach & Sebastian Acevedo.

Sisters: Kathleen Knorr, Appleton & Lucille Lorrig, Clintonville.

Sisters-in-law: Frances Artz, Manawa; Mary Gretzinger, Rhinelander; Rita Monnot, Clintonville; Sue (Jim) Collins, Clintonville; & Ellen (Phil) Everts, New London.

A Brother-in-law: Darrol Bricco, New London.

Vincent was also survived by his beloved dog, Tippy.

Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Nicholas at birth, a brother Melvin Artz, and sisters Mary Artz at birth & Eileen Gough.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, N5705 County Rd T, in the Township of Lebanon, Waupaca County.  Msgr. Dennis Lally will officiate and interment will take place at the parish cemetery in the spring. Military honors will be conducted outside of the church on Saturday following the service by members of the Clintonville American Legion Post #63 and VFW Post #664.

Friends may call at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, 53 N.
