Ward L. Stuebs, age 80 of the Town of Larrabee, passed away peacefully following a lingering illness on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Ward Lyndle Stuebs was born March 28, 1934 to Henry and Rozina (Tegtmeyer) Stuebs in Gresham. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1953. Ward was united in marriage to DeAnn Lichtenberg on July 14, 1956 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. He was employed at the FWD for 42 years, working as a millwright maintaining their machinery. He served as president of his Bow Hunters Club, and also belonged to Clintonville Truck City Riders Snowmobile Club, the FWD Foreman’s Club, and his Pheasant Club. Ward was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to spend his time outdoors. He enjoyed time with family and friends at Harbour Village Campground in Door County, and loved to spend time with all of his grandchildren. Ward loved meeting new people. Anyone who knew him knew that he was a talker, especially when the topics included hunting or his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, DeAnn

He was preceded in death by his brother Larven, his grandsons Benjamin Huhnstock & Robert Stuebs, and his step-siblings Loretta Hall & Lewis Hoffman
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 28, 2015 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville, with the Rev. Christian Burg officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Inurnment will take place at St. Martin Lutheran Cemetery.
Ward’s family would like to thank Affinity Hospice Visiting Nurses and therapy, Dr. Christopher Peterson & Dr. Darryl Barton with Aspirus Cancer Center, Wausau for their care. Also, to Heather Stuebs for all of her help.
