Genevieve Cora (McKay) Dobratz

Genevieve C. Dobratz, age 86 of Stevens Point, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living in Stevens Point.

Genevieve “Gen” Cora Dobratz was born November 8, 1934 in White Lake, WI, daughter to the late Harry & Floretta (Zilch) McKay. She was united in marriage to Donald “Don” A. Dobratz on October 6, 1990 in Milwaukee. The couple moved to the Stevens Point area in 2000. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Stevens Point, and served as a reader for the church. Gen loved gardening, fishing, and traveling.

Step-daughters: Mary Lilienthal & Diana (Wes) Schmidt
Step-son: Steve Dobratz
5 Grandchildren & 2 Great-grandchildren
Sisters: Winifred Schmidt & Betty (Roger) Nassen
Brother: Donald McKay

Gen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald A. Dobratz; and her sister, Gloria McKay-Pollock.

A memorial service will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Marion, with the Rev. Sara Gorman officiating. Inurnment will take place following the service at Greenleaf Cemetery, also in Marion. 

Visitation will begin at 10 AM at the funeral home until the time of the service.
