Paul A. Gretzinger, age 80 of Clintonville, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton.
Paul Andrew Gretzinger was born November 6, 1939 in Clintonville, son to the late William & Pauline (Maes) Gretzinger. He graduated from Clintonville High School in 1958, and shortly after, enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Paul served aboard the USS Fred T. Berry, a gearing-class destroyer, as a boiler tender during the Cold War. After his honorable discharge in 1962, Paul was united in marriage to Diana Erdmann on September 21, 1963 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville, where he was still an active member. For a short time, he worked at Urban Telephone, and later was employed at F.W.D. Seagrave, Clintonville, retiring after 37 ½ years. Paul loved the outdoors; fishing for Perch, deer hunting, or camping with his family. They even had a permanent camper at Kastle Kampground for a time, now Farmer Gene’s. He spent some of his free time singing with the St. Rose Choir, as well as volunteering in local nursing homes; visiting with the residents and providing entertainment through music. Paul was an avid Packer fan and rarely missed a game. He will be remembered as being quick-witted, always ready with a joke, and just a happy-go-lucky guy. He will be missed.
