Robert Lee Hacker

Robert L. Hacker, age 89 of Tavares, FL, formerly of the Fox Valley, passed away early Monday morning, March 1, 2021 at Little Chute Health Services.

Robert Lee Hacker was born February 9, 1932 in Shawano, WI, son to the late William & Pearl (Norton) Hacker. He attended school in Shawano and graduated with the class of 1951. Robert was united in marriage to Janet Kitzman on July 3, 1954 in Marion, WI. She preceded him in death in 2013 after 59 years of marriage.  Their union was blessed with six children. The couple lived for a time on Shawano Lake, later living in various places throughout the Fox Valley. Robert worked as a supervisor at Great Northern Container in Appleton, retiring in 1994. He and Janet enjoyed part of their retirement on Island Lake near Hurley, WI; but the cold, snowy Wisconsin winters, saw the couple later relocating to Tavares, FL in 1996. In Florida, Robert was an active member of Adventure Christian Church, in Tavares. He loved collecting model cars, playing Sheepshead, fishing, and watching the Green Bay Packers. He also liked to go bowling and biking in his younger years. Robert loved his family dearly and will be missed.   

Robert is survived by his children: Jeanne (Nathan) Beyer, Menasha; Robert (Nancy) Hacker, Freedom; Kathy (Bruce) Meyer, Manawa; Laura (Chris) Smith, Little Chute; and Lisa (Michael) DeMent, Appleton.  He is further survived by 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; & 1 great-great-grandson on the way.

In addition to Janet, Robert was preceded in death by his parents, & his loving son Donald.

Funeral services will be held 11AM on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, with the Rev. Shelly Klemp of Christus Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will take place at Big Falls Cemetery following the funeral.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9AM until the time of the service.  Those planning to attend the visitation and/or funeral, masking will be required for the safety of all.  The Hacker family thanks you kindly in advance.
