Bertrand D. Blashe, age 92 of the Town of Pella, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton.
Bertrand “Bert” Daniel Blashe was born November 23, 1926 in the Township of Angelica, Shawano County; son to the late Edward J. & Agnes (Krueger) Blashe. Bert served our country in the Marine Corps. in Guam and China from 1945-1948 as a mechanic. After an honorable discharge from service, he returned home and started dairy farming. Shawano County awarded Bert with the “Outstanding Young Farmer” award early on in his career; he also held office with the Farmer’s Union Milk Marketing Cooperative, serving as president and director for many years. He semi-retired after selling the milk-cows in May 1999 and fully retired in 2012. In his younger years, Bert played baseball with the Caroline Cougars and was inducted in their hall of fame. Bert enjoyed gun deer hunting, playing church dartball for various area churches, couples bowling, card games with family, and watching his son Doug, race dirt track.

Great-grandchildren: Wyatt & Sydney Blashe
Sister-in-law: Arlene “Pat” Blashe

Bert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis; brothers, Oryn & Donald Blashe; and a sibling in infancy.
Memorial services will be held 11 AM Friday, December 21, 2018 at Bethany Evangelical Free Church, Clintonville, with the Rev. Kurt Hettinga officiating. Military honor rites will be conducted by the Blashe-Peters-Tober American Legion Post #456 of Caroline.
Friends may call on Friday at the church from 9 AM until the time of service.
