Beverly Demitriou Obituary

Beverly J. Demitriou, age 89 of Clintonville, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton.

Beverly Joann Demitriou was born April 20, 1930 in Racine, WI, daughter to the late Anton N. & Rasmine C. Hansen. Not long after graduation from Racine High School, Beverly was united in marriage to James L. Demitriou on December 4, 1949 at the St. Constantine & St. Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Milwaukee. The couple settled in South Milwaukee where Beverly worked at Kohl’s Dept. Store for a time; later staying at home with her children and growing family. The family lived in the Milwaukee area until a few years after James’ death in 1981; at which point they moved to Scandinavia. Beverly worked at Mr. Ceramics, in Iola for many years and was active in the community. In the mid 1990s, Beverly moved to the Clintonville area where she was very active with the Senior/Community Center, helping with meal planning and working as a bingo caller. She also worked at Wal-Mart, New London for a time. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, and shooting league pool. Beverly will be remembered for her “gift of gab” and her seemingly unlimited supply of (only slightly dirty) jokes.

She is survived by her:
Daughter: Kaliope Demitriou, Marion
Son: Lou (Melissa) Demitriou, Scandinavia
Grandchildren: Angela (Raul) Torrez, Dustin (Ronda) Demitriou, Katie (Clint) Dey, Kristie (Ryan Silva) Mulqueen, & Everett Kauffman
Great-grandchildren: Amber, Mercedes, Miranda, Selina, Henry, Cody, Hallie, Jeff, Madison, Nola, October, Ivan, & Killian
Great-great-grandchildren: Sebastian, Gabe, Bella, Zariah, & Silas
Daughter-in-law: Linda Manriquez
Sister: Patricia Komar, Amherst, WI

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James L. Demitriou Sr.; a son, James Demitriou Jr.; a brother, Harold Hansen; and sisters, Verna Niss & Helen Hansen.

As per Beverly’s wishes, no funeral services will be held; a small memorial will be held at the time of burial. Inurnment will take place at Wood National Cemetery, Milwaukee, in the spring.
