Dorothy Irene (Beck) Keller, a resident of Marion Wisconsin and former resident of Morgantown
Pennsylvania, is now a permanent resident of Heaven. She died on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Greentree Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clintonville, at ninety-three years of age. Her parents were John J. Beck and Hettie (Esther) (Shirk) Beck. Dorothy, aka Dot, Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma, was born in Akron PA as the youngest of eight siblings, who have all preceded her in death. She was married to David L.L. Keller for sixty years, until David went to heaven in 2006, to wait for her arrival. Dorothy and David raised four children, Julia A. Knabb of Fleetwood PA, wife of Barry Knabb; Jeffrey L. Keller of Marion WI, husband of Denise (Wilson) Keller, who is also in heaven with Dorothy; Joan L. Lavery of Palm Beach Gardens FL, wife of Steven Lavery; and Janet K. Richards of Austin TX, wife of Rusty Richards. Mom (Dorothy) adored her grandchildren and all their families.
Dorothy worked part-time at the Morgantown Post Office and as a self-employed seamstress. She was a long-time member of the Morgantown Methodist Church and in recent years, a member of Grace Family Church, Marion. She loved being with her family and hosting fun-filled holiday meals. Dorothy was full of energy and in particular, she was active in several golf and bowling leagues, played on the Senior Center's dartball team, enjoyed playing pinochle and other games, and relished vacations at the beach. She was gifted with her hands, loved making crafts, and had a reputation for baking the world's best pies or chocolate chip cookies to share with people around her. Mom endeavored to create a fun atmosphere wherever she went.
In addition to her children, Dorothy is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrea (Tony) Fioriglio; Adam (Betsy) Keller; Jason Lavery; Nikki (Justin) Bonikowske; Richard Lavery; Melody (Paul) Christle; & Renee Johnson; & great-grandchildren, Jack, Ben, Sam, Max, Caitlin, Aaron, Jordy, Jace, & Riley.
The celebration of her life will be held 11 AM Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Marion with the Rev. Kelly Loken officiating. A second gathering is being planned for June in Pennsylvania along with the burial of her urn.
Friends may call on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9 AM until the time of the service.
