Gloria Jean (Kachelmeier) Walters

Gloria J. Walters, age 75 of the Township of Bear Creek, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton.

Gloria Jean Walters was born June 1, 1944 in West Allis, WI daughter to the late Harvey & Elaine (Thomas) Kachelmeier. She attended Juneau High School graduating with the class of 1962. Gloria was united in marriage to Harland Heuter Jr. and soon after started a family. After Harland preceded her in death, Gloria served as a temporary foster parent for children and babies in need. She worked at West Allis Memorial Hospital and The Children’s Hospital for a time. In 1986, the family relocated to the Bear Creek area so Gloria could follow her dream of living out in the country to raise, train, and ride horses (and coffee-clutch with friends and family whenever possible!) Gloria was later united in marriage to John E. Walters in New London, WI. She worked at Shawano Hospital for a time, and for We Care Animal Hospital, Clintonville, retiring when she was 64. Gloria fit right in at the hospitals and the veterinary office because of her affinity and compassion for both people and animals. The house was always filled with friends, family, several pets, and fresh coffee! She enjoyed trail riding with family, crafting and crocheting, and reading. She will be remembered for her loving kindness shown to family and friends, the knowledge she so loved to acquire and share, and her favorite evening snack, a Pepsi and popcorn. 

She is survived by her husband, John

Great-grandchildren: Kashton, Kennady & Liam Ragowski
Sister: Bonnie (Kenny) Wolf
Brothers: Daniel (Debra) Kachelmeier & Dick (Lori) Kachelmeier

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Harland Hueter Jr.; her sisters, Cheryl Marks & Dawn Laguna; & her brother, Bud Kachelmeier

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Family of Christ Church, Clintonville with the Rev. Steven Devroy officiating.

Friends may call on Thursday at the church from 9 AM until the time of service.

The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville is assisting the family with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to be directed to the family for a donation/memorial to be established at We Care Animal Hospital, Clintonville.
