Lewis Weygandt Obituary

Lewis E. Weygandt, age 92 of Clintonville passed away Sunday morning, June 23, 2019 at Care Partner’s Assisted Living in Clintonville.

Lewis was born on October 7, 1926 in Grove City, OH as the son of the late Elvin and Sidney (Haughn) Weygandt. He graduated from Grove City High School and served his country in the United States Air Corps; stationed at Pearl Harbor to help with the aftermath and cleanup. Lewis was united in marriage to Nancy Root. The couple resided in Grove City while Lewis worked for Seagrave Inc in Columbus before he was transfered to Seagrave Inc in Clintonville in 1964. In their younger days, Lewis and Nancy loved to dance and were members of a few local dance clubs over the years. Lewis retired from Seagrave in 1988. He loved fishing; especially for northern and panfish. Lewis also liked playing cards and was a huge fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and the Wisconsin Badgers. Lewis will be remembered as a respected co-worker at Seagrave and for his great sense of humor.

Survivors include: His daughter: Mindy “Minnow” Sleeman, Arbor Vitae.

Sons: Bob “Wingnut” (Laurie) Weygandt, Clintonville; Michael “Corn” (Christa) Weygandt, Poynette; and Scott “Ducky” Weygandt, Clintonville.

Grandchildren: Robert Harley Weygandt & Mark (Heather) Sleeman, Jr.

Great-Grandchildren: Riley & Shelby Sleeman.

Sisters: Diana (Charles) Trenary, Grove City, OH & Barbara Burkhart, Florida.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy, son-in-law Mark Sleeman, Sr., granddaughter Kelly Sleeman, and brother-in-law Jack Burkhart.

A graveside service for Lewis will be held at a later date at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville with Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting his family. www.eberhardtstevenson.com
