Michael “Mike” S. Hansen, age 57 of the Town of Fairbanks, Shawano County, passed away Sunday morning, December 16, 2018 at the ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton.
Michael Scott Hansen was born on July 20, 1961 in Appleton as the son of Wanda (Morris) Gustafson and the late Harland Hansen. He grew up in Clintonville where he graduated with honors as a member of Clintonville High School’s Class of 1979. Mike went on to UW Eau Claire where he also graduated with honors and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Botany. As a teenager he worked part-time for the Clintonville Riverside Golf Course, Mike returned after college and to this day was their head grounds keeper. He loved his job and always had the course looking immaculate. On September 24, 2005 Mike was united in marriage to Dawn Brandt at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marion. When Mike wasn’t working he enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. He often referred to himself as the “crappie king”. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and decorating his lawn for Christmas. Mike was a huge Chicago Bears fan and lived for today. He was a genuinely happy and giving person.

Step-Children: Fr. Timothy Brandt, Bradley (Saide) Brandt & family, Jennifer (Jeff) Block, and Jessica (Billy) Zera & family.
Nieces & Nephews: Stephanie Eggert, Jason Phillips, Katelynn Booth, and Hanna & Louie Hansen.
Also numerous other relatives and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his father Harland, sister Robin (Michael) Phillips, step-father Rev. Roger Gustafson, and his father-in-law Hilbert Klinner.
Mike’s funeral service will be held Friday December 21, 2018 at 11 AM at the Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Brian Crocker & Fr. Timothy Brandt officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Friends may call at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville on Thursday from 4 – 7 PM and again at the church on Friday from 9 AM until the time of the service. A meal back at the church will be held after the burial and a celebration of Mike's life at Clintonville Riverside Golf Course will follow the meal for those able to attend. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established by his family.
