Raymond L. Brockhaus

Raymond “Ray” L. Brockhaus, age 95 of Clintonville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Shawano.

Raymond Louis Brockhaus was born on August 4, 1923 in Caroline as the son of the late Louis and Tillie (Polzin) Brockhaus. He grew up in Caroline and graduated from Marion High School. Ray also attended Army Finance School in Indianapolis, IN and started working for FWD Seagrave in Clintonville in 1941. Ray served his country in the United States Air Force from January of 1943 – January of 1946. His service as a numbers guy in the payroll department took him to both England and Guam . Upon his discharge from service he continued working in the accounting department of FWD Seagrave until his retirement in 1986. Ray was united in marriage to Darhl Jantz in Caroline on May 6, 1947. The couple raised a son Steven and loved spending time together; especially hunting and fishing. Ray had a love for the game of golf to put it lightly. He was a proud member of the Clintonville Riverside Golf Course for many years and enjoyed volunteering there with their grounds crew and maintenance department. Ray served on the Clintonville City Council as an Alderman for District 5 for 14 years. He was also a member of the Clintonville American Legion for many years. Most importantly he kept a strong faith in his Lord and Savior as a member of Christus Lutheran Church where he volunteered as an usher. Raymond was a kind, gentle man with a big heart. Having just celebrated his 95th birthday, he recently remarked about how surprised he was at the number of cards he received. He cherished the friends he made and will certainly be missed by many.

His Brother-in-law: John (Mary) Jantz, Kohler, WI.

His Sister-in-law: Phylis Brockhaus, Green Valley, AZ.

Also survived by numerous other relatives and many beloved friends.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Darhl, son Steven, sisters Germaine Schulz & Elaine Rades, and his brother Darold Brockhaus.

Ray’s funeral service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11 AM at the Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Military honors will be conducted outside of the church by members of the Clintonville American Legion Post #63, VFW Post #664, and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #63. Interment at Greenleaf Cemetery in Marion will follow the meal at the church. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service. Memorials for Ray would be appreciated for the Christus Lutheran Church or the Clintonville Veteran’s Memorial Fund.
