Shirley A. (Kuehl) Fischer

Shirley A. Fischer, age 79 of Marion passed away Saturday afternoon, August 17, 2019 at the Bethany Home in Waupaca with family by her side.

Shirley Ann Kuehl was born January 24, 1940 in Clintonville as the daughter of the late Arthur and Stella (Dieck) Kuehl. She grew up in Clintonville and was united in marriage to Norman Fischer on September 20, 1959 at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville. The couple nearly reached their 60th anniversary. Shirley was very active and hard working. She held a variety of positions throughout her life; most recently at Marion Plywood, but the momentous was as a waitress at Geno’s Bar and Grill which was located in Marion. Shirley was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in town for many years. She had a love for children and the elderly; often taking care of those in need in her own home. Shirley loved people and would have loved to travel more. She also had a fondness for roses and was a wonderful cook. Her family especially enjoyed her fresh doughnuts and homemade candy at Christmas.

Survivors include: Her Husband: Norman.

Children: Kim Fischer, Karie (John) Orvedahl, Kent (Bonnie) Fischer, Kalene (John) Thoma, Korey (Audrey) Fischer, and Kyle Fischer.

Grandchildren: Matthew Orvedahl, Jacob (Megan) Orvedahl, Nathan Orvedahl, Kayla (Brent) Lambie, Sheena Fischer (Brad Lagner), Coleman, McKenzie, & Conner Thoma, and Kourtney, Brody, Kal & Leighten Fischer.

Great-Grandchildren: Elyse, Ava, & Boe Orvedahl.

Siblings: Jerome (Shirley) Kuehl, Joyce Tagliapietra, Dave (Theresa) Kuehl, Judy Vyse, & Debbie (Larry) Sprotte.

Sisters-in-law: Karen (Richard) Blahnik, Cassandra (Randy) Fischer-Skinkis, and Melanie Miller.

Also many nieces & nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Violet (Lloyd) Thede & Myra (Glenn) Schmidt, and a daughter-in-law Jackie Fischer.

Shirley’s memorial service will be held Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 11 AM at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Marion with Rev. Don Staude officiating. Inurnment will follow at Roseland Cemetery in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9 AM until the time of the service.
