Andrew J. Gleisner, age 75 of the Township of Matteson, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday evening November 28, 2023 at his home.
Andrew “Andy” Joseph Gleisner was born September 24, 1948 in Marshfield, WI; son to the late Louis & Martha (Fuchs) Gleisner. He attended U.W. Madison, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture. After moving to Clintonville in 1971, he worked for Wanta’s Floral; later working at Walker Forge for 25 years until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Sharon “Sheri” M. Zierke on January 2, 1969 in Menominee, MI. In 1975, the couple moved to a 40 acre farm which they turned into a public garden, which they ran for over 20 years. Andy and Sheri welcomed their son, Ut into the family in 1991 and their daughter Shamla in 1992. In addition to loving horticulture, he loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sharon “Sheri” Gleisner
Children: Shamla (David) Laabs, New London & Ut Gleisner, Clintonville
Grandchildren: Pria, Premal, & Premadhar Laabs
Brothers: Jim (Maggie) Gleisner, Richard (Mary) Gleisner, John (Barbara) Gleisner, Charles (Laurette) Gleisner, Donald (Barbara) Gleisner, Michael (Kathy) Gleisner, & David (Deanne) Gleisner
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Prisha Laabs; sisters, Carol & Mary Gleisner in infancy; and a brother, Robert Gleisner.
As per Andy’s wishes, a private remembrance will be held at a later date.
The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville is assisting the Gleisner family in their time of need.
