Barbara Ann (Kiekhoefer) Peskie

Barbara A. Peskie, age 86 of Clintonville, formerly of the Town of Pella, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Barbara Ann (Kiekhoefer) Peskie was born on August 14, 1934 in Marion, WI, daughter to the late Franklin & Lily (Westerman) Kiekhoefer. In her senior year at Marion High School, Barb lived on the Mielke farm where she worked in the household; later graduating with the class of 1953. Within a year’s time, she moved down to Milwaukee to work for Northwestern Mutual and rented a room from what would be her future in-laws. Barb met and fell in love with Eugene Leonard Peskie; the couple was united in marriage on April 30, 1955 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Milwaukee. As they had children and their family grew from two to six, Barb loved her new role as mother and keeper of their home; she was an excellent cook and could bake just about anything. They lived and raised the family in the St. Francis area, until Eugene retired in 1992 and moved to the Town of Pella. They became members of Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, and Barb used her knitting skills to make sweaters and hats for the church’s mission work. She loved archery and ceramics in her younger years, and later took joy in gardening, canning, and sewing. After an airline flight to attend a wedding in the family, Barb had a new love of traveling. She was able to visit Hawaii, Ireland, Alaska, and also took European cruises to Scandinavia and other countries. After Eugene’s passing in 2010, Barb moved to Clintonville. Most recently, especially during this pandemic, reading books became one of her favorite things. Barb will be remembered as a great mother and grandmother, who always put her children and family first.    

She is survived by her children: Jane (Jeff) Lese, East Troy; Karen (John) Czajkowski, South Milwaukee; Tim (Kelly) Peskie, Clintonville; & Rodney Peskie, Marion

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; sons, Richard Peskie Sr. & Jeff Peskie; a grandson, Tim Lese; and brothers, Curtis & Phillip Kiekhoefer.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville with the Rev. Shelly Klemp & the Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Greenleaf Cemetery, Marion.

Visitation will take place on Saturday at the church from 9 AM until the time of service.
