Beatrice M. Klitz, age 98, Caroline, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, October 5, 2023 at The Pines Post Acute & Memory Care, Embarrass.
Beatrice was born August 4, 1925 at home in the Township of Matteson, Clintonville, daughter of the late Ira and Hazel (Velie) Cass. She attended Woodland School in the Township of Matteson and helped her parents on their home farm. Later she worked at Midway Tea Room, Clintonville.
On May 28, 1947, Beatrice was united in marriage to Ruben Klitz at Bethany Church, Clintonville. Following her marriage, they moved to Pella where they were members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. They settled in Caroline where they were members of Zion Lutheran Church, Caroline. Beatrice was a member of the Ladies Aid, Altar Guild, and helped with Sunday School.
Beatrice worked at Hanson Glove, Clintonville, and for 23 years at Eagle Knit in Shawano. She retired at the age of 62 in 1987. She, also, worked at the Caroline Ballroom in the Snack Bar and waitressed. She enjoyed many years working at The Marion Advertiser with her family.
Beatrice was an excellent homemaker, canning fruits and vegetables, baking pies and bars for her family and many local events. She prided herself in making beautiful flower arrangements. She also enjoyed spending hours watching the birds at the birdfeeder and sitting by the fireplace.
Beatrice is survived by her loving family: 5 children-Bonnie (Russ) Ehlert, Elaine (Jack Nell) Beaulieu, Dale Klitz, Jane Marquardt, and Patsy Brandenburg; son-in law-Kenneth Strassburg; 7 grandchildren-Wendy (Steve) Schweighardt, Jeff (Jeni) Strassburg, Joel (Amanda) Strassburg, Christa Krause, Skeeter (Heather) Beaulieu, Jay (Missey) Teske, and Angie Brandenburg; 13 great-grandchildren, Noah and Cody Schweighardt, Jacob and Alyssa Strassburg, Nathan, Kylie, Naomi, Elsie Bea and Molly Strassburg, Addison VanPay, Megan and Aidan Beaulieu and Jeffery Teske; and in November her first great-great grandson baby Teske; 1 sister-Arlis Kabble; 1 sister-in-law-Elaine Ann Klitz; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ruben in 1969; her parents; two daughters-Shirley Strassburg and Beverly Yaeger; a grandson-Jeremy Yaeger; sons-in-law-James Beaulieu, Wayne Yaeger, Otto Marquardt, and Daniel Brandenburg; her sisters and brothers, Virginia, Florence, Dorothy, Mary, Lula, Warren and Henry; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 9th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Caroline, Pastor Jim Folz and Pastor Craig Nehring officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Caroline. A luncheon will follow at the Caroline Legion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Caroline.
