Bernice E. Meidam (Koehler) age 97 of Clintonville passed away at home with her family by her side Friday morning, February 26, 2021.
Bernice Eleanor Koehler was born July 6, 1923, a twin, in the Township of Deer Creek, to Herman and Olga (Wilfur) Koehler. Bernice was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Deer Creek. She graduated from Shiocton High School in 1942 and then was employed at Scoldy Locks in Appleton for 5 years, before marrying Arthur Meidam on September 6, 1947. They bought the Meidam farm and farmed until 1970 when they moved into Clintonville. Bernice began working at the Clintonville Hospital and was employed there for 15 years; retiring in 1986. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bear Creek, where she taught Sunday School and was an active member of the Ladies Aid until her late retirement years.

Her 3 Children: Lowell (Rita) Meidam, Darla (Bruce) Galland, and Lorna (Roger) Mathison.
7 Grandchildren: Dawn Galland, Jill (Randy) Schauder, Matthew (Kristel) Galland, Jayme (Chad) Shea, Brian (Shana) Meidam, Tammy (Mike) Smith, and David (Bria) Anderson.
5 Step-Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren, 15 Step-Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren, and 3 Step-Great-Great-Grandchildren.
She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur; sisters and brothers-in-law Elda (Kenneth) Conradt, Freida (Walter) Volz, Eunice (Chester) Heiman, and Leila (Lawrence) Krueger; son-in-law Roger Anderson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Lucille (Lyle) Wendt, Gladys (Paul) Lorenze, Beatrice (Pete) Starchaska; and a great-granddaughter Briana Meidam.
Bernice’s funeral service will be held Tuesday March 2, 2021 at 11 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in the Township of Bear Creek, Waupaca County with Rev. Aric Fenske officiating. Interment will follow the service at the church cemetery also in Bear Creek. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
