Betty Wisnefske Obituary

Betty Ruth (Hein) Wisnefske, 92, snuck in her last smirk on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Aster Assisted Living, Clintonville, WI.

Betty was born on March 18, 1928 in Bear Creek, one of twelve children to the late Max and Ida (Krueger) Hein.

On June 10, 1950, she married Milton Fredrick Wisnefske at Trinity Lutheran Church and later the couple took over the Wisnefske family farm on County Rd O, where they worked side-by-side and raised their family. Their union was blessed and based on consideration and communication. Each night of their 59 ½ years of marriage, Milton & Betty held hands in bed and prayed The Lord’s Prayer, a tradition they began on their honeymoon. Over the years they enjoyed spending time with their friends & family, whether it was fishing, dancing the night away with the Jolly Mixers and Jolly Neighbors Dance Club or sharing laughs over games of sheephead and smear. She was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, where she served as Chairwoman of the Flower Committee and Ladies Aid funeral group and in various offices of the St. Martin PTL.

The perpetual baker, Betty always had seasonal cookies ready for guests and grandchildren. Thanksgiving meant that there was no need to ask, the answer was “of course I made your favorite!” She knew the magic a garden offered: the therapeutic energy of digging in the dirt, the reward of fresh vegetables, Milton proudly keeping count of the yearly rose bed harvest, and fresh-cut sweet peas on her kitchen table, but only after she had shared several bouquets with friends and shut-ins who “just might like something special”. She never turned down a sewing project, whether it was a tied quilt, shortening a hem or mending a hole in your favorite jeans. She took care of those she loved. Her humble gratitude reminded us all how lucky we truly are to have known this life. Her giggle stirred yours. Her legacy is the smile she leaves on the faces of those who felt her love.

Betty is survived by her three children, Mary (Dennis) Krueger of Clintonville, Ron (Carol Haack) of Clintonville and Lisa Ziemer of Stevens Point; her grandchildren, Kandi Krueger, Lindsay (Benjamin) Benaszeski, Leah (Peter) Kucera, Dustin (Nola) Krueger, Christie (Brian) Tooley, Randy (Jennifer) Wisnefske, Kim (Tim) Suchowski, Kelly Wisnefske, Keegan Ziemer, Bryce Ziemer, and Trevor Tooley; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Kaden Krueger, Clayton and Easton Benazeski, Georgianna Kucera, and Desmond Frenche and great-great grandchildren, Maci and Cashton. Her sister, Joyce Hoffman of New London also survives her.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Milton on October 23, 2009, five brothers, Marvin, Lyle, Arlyn, Elroy and Jim and five sisters, Laura, Eleanor, Bernie, Mildred and Evy.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM, Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville, with the Rev. Brian Weber officiating. Private interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville, following the service.
