Bonnie J. Nielson, age 67 of Clintonville passed away surrounded by family on Friday afternoon, March 6, 2020 at The Pines Health Care Center in Embarrass.
Bonnie was born on July 17, 1952 in Clintonville as the daughter of the late Reuben and Margaret (Tonn) Janke, Sr. She graduated from Clintonville High School and was united in marriage to Gary Nielson at the United Methodist Church in Clintonville. The couple resided in town where they raised their 3 sons and later divorced. Bonnie was employed as a cleaning lady at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clintonville where she made lots of friends and enjoyed visiting with the residents. She also babysat for numerous children in town which produced a great treasure in her life; Amanda Schwartz. Bonnie remained close to Amanda ever since her babysitting days and thought of her as the “daughter she never had”. Bonnie met James “Jim” McCormick in 2007 and the couple were engaged prior to Jim’s passing in 2018. They were often found camping together and loved spending time with each other’s family. In her younger years, Bonnie liked to bowl and shoot pool with friends. She was gifted with a green thumb and enjoyed taking care of her flower gardens. Bonnie also looked after any animal she crossed paths with, and was known by her family as an expert at rummage sales. She was a current member of the United Methodist Church in Clintonville and will be remembered by her family as a caring and loving mother & grandmother.

Her Sons: Mike (Stacey), Adam (Stephanie), & Brian (Megan) Nielson.
Jim’s Son: Jerry (Beth) McCormick.
Grandchildren: Kip, Aiden, Morgan, Emma Grace, & Bella Nielson, Mia Bruce, and Broden & Brenna Nielson.
Step-Grandchildren: Chase & Travis Loose.
Step-Great-Grandchildren: Quinn & Wyatt Loose.
A Sister: Donna Ratliff.
A Brother: Reuben Janke, Jr.
Also a niece and nephew: Jenny (Greg) McRann & Jason Ratliff.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, fiancé James “Jim” McCormick, and a brother William Janke.
Bonnie’s funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 11 AM at the United Methodist Church in Clintonville with Rev. Diana Ziegler officiating. Interment will be at the Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville in the spring. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
