Bret W. Klotzbuecher, age 68 of the Town of Matteson, passed away Monday evening, May 18, 2026 at The Pines Post-Acute and Memory Care, Embarrass.
Bret Wade Klotzbuecher was born on March 4, 1958, in Clintonville, WI, the son of the late Arlyn and Vila (Krueger) Klotzbuecher. He grew up in the area and graduated from Clintonville High School with the Class of 1976. Early in his working years, Bret spent time employed at the local clock factory in Clintonville.
On June 7, 1980, Bret was united in marriage to Brenda Lea Young at Grace Lutheran Church in Sugarbush. Together, they built a life rooted in family and community service. Dedicated to helping his neighbors, Bret served with the Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department for approximately 25 years. He also committed many years of service to the Clintonville Park and Recreation Department, where he ultimately retired as a foreman.
An outdoorsman through and through, Bret loved fishing, hunting anything Wisconsin had to offer, and trapping in his younger years. He truly enjoyed socializing, whether he was spending time with friends at local events or gathering with family. He will be remembered as someone who was always available to help family and friends, bringing a great sense of humor to every room he walked into—a gift he kept even during his final days.
He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda
