Carl W. Bork, age 91 of Marion passed away Saturday evening August 2, 2025 at the Manawa Community Living Center.
Carl Walter Bork was born on November 12, 1933 in Marion as the son of the late Robert and Erma (Raasch) Bork. He graduated from Marion High School in 1952 and met Valeria “Val” Becker on a double date. The couple were united in marriage on August 25, 1956 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. Carl and Val were meant to be and wonderful compliments to each other; sticking together through 70 years of life’s ups and downs. They farmed together on the Bork homestead in the Town of Dupont where Carl was active in his community with 4-H, past President of FFA, and was a member and past Treasurer of the Dupont Volunteer Fire Department. Carl and Val were faithful members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where Carl served as past President, Financial Secretary, and Head Usher. Carl’s faith in his Lord was evident throughout his family life and years working on the farm. He will be remembered for his caring nature and love of his family.
Carl is survived by his Children: Delores (Russell) Fietzer, Waupaca; David Bork, Marion; & John (Lisa) Bork, Tigerton
Grandson: Christopher Bork and special friend, Kelsey, MN
Great-grandchildren: Ella & Clara Bork
Nieces: Mary (Dan) Tews, Marion & Lois (Kenneth) Reitz, Marion
Nephew: James (Michelle) Bork, Menasha
Also numerous other relatives.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Erma Bork, his wife Valeria “Val” Bork in June of 2025, brothers Clarence & Lester Bork, and sisters-in-law Ruth, Helen, Edith, LaVern, and Doris Bork.
Funeral services will be held 12 PM on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Dupont, with the Rev. Karen Riemer officiating. Interment will follow at Roseland Cemetery, also in the Town of Dupont. Visitation will take place on Wednesday at the church from 11 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Dupont or to your local church in Carl’s name are appreciated. His family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Manawa Community Living Center for their kindness and care of both Carl and Val over the past year and a half.
