Chloie Luckow Obituary

Chloie P. Luckow, age 82 of Clintonville, passed away Monday afternoon, April 10, 2023 at Care Partners Assisted Living, Clintonville.

Chloie Pearl Luckow was born December 4, 1940 in Waupaca, daughter to the late Cyril and Arline (Elser) Hultine. She was raised in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Custer High School in 1958. She married Robert Luckow in 1959 and together, they had four kids before divorcing in the mid 70s. Chloie returned to her roots "up north" shortly after and was welcomed with a foot of snow on April 1, 1979. She resided in the Bear Creek zip code for the next 40 years, working at Hillshire, Carl's Red Owl, The Shoe Factory and most notably, and the longest, at Jerry and Pat's for close to 20 years! While working there, she met Edgar Smith and joined him on his small dairy farm near Symco that they farmed until the late 90s. While milking cows, she continued to work full time at Jerry and Pat's, and helped raise quite a few of her grandchildren; and in 1995, was diagnosed with RA. This miserable disease came with a multitude of other conditions that eventually stole her independence, which was a big pill to swallow. She settled into her home at Care Partners Assisted Living in December of 2019 and those caretakers became her second family. Over the decades, she delved into her family tree, old school style, going to cemeteries in multiple states, searching microfiche in LDS libraries and courthouses, and compiling those info/pictures on paper, not a computer! She loved watching and feeding her birds, playing in her flower beds and vegetable gardens, restoring furniture, collecting cookbooks and baking, antiques, and most of all her dogs; Jasmine, Jasper, Sadie, and Charlie. However, her greatest treasure was her family.

She is survived by her children; Melanie Dankert, Wendy Dankert, Jennifer (Robert) Pelky and Peter Luckow, grandchildren: Daniel and Patrick Dankert, Raymond and Cy Franz, Tobias Dankert, Victoria (Jesse) Risatti, Derek Dankert; Kristie (Will) Munoz Morales, Anthony Luckow, Amber Barry; Cassi (Kyle) Griepentrog, Lyndsey (Ryan) Malliet, Missy (Dustin) Zarnoth; Micah and Bridget Olesen, Misty (Devyn), Sara, Emmett and Ruth Luckow; great grandchildren: Sofia, Dasia, Jarod, Amara, Devine, Alex, Caleb, Desirae, Melly, Antoinette(Seth), Kenzie, Kadence, Dante, Ryleigh, Ethan, Greyson, Mina, Alizabeth, Lucy, Sandra, Corbin, Aislynn, Shamus and great, great grandchildren; Laila, Ezra and Jonah.
She is further survived by her brother, Michael (Jane) Hultine, sister in law, Diana Hultine, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Edgar; granddaughter, Antoinette; great grandson, Tucker; and her brother, Chuck Hultine.
