Clyde F. Meyer, age 93 of the Town of Bear Creek, Waupaca County passed away peacefully on Monday August 11, 2025 at Monarch Meadows at St. Joseph’s Residence, New London.
Clyde Franklin Meyer was born to the late Hiram and Cora (Bachellor) Meyer on December 18, 1931 in Omro, WI. He attended school in Bear Creek and enjoyed helping on his dad’s farm in the early mornings and afternoons. Clyde met his wife, Gladys Roberts, at Pleasant View Hall at a dance. They were later united in marriage on June 27, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bear Creek. Three years passed, and in 1954 Clyde was drafted into the U.S. Army. After his service in the Army, he farmed full time at his dad’s farm. In 1963, Clyde and his wife then purchased a farm of their own in the Town of Deer Creek, which they made their home. He also drove milktruck, worked at Curwood, and later was employed at Hillshire meat plant working as grounds crew and maintenance staff. Clyde had a large family which inspired him to be a hard worker and have a good work ethic. In his younger years, he enjoyed being in nature while hunting and fishing, as well as woodworking. As he got older he enjoyed going to auctions to bring home treasures for Gladys. Clyde and his wife attended Christ Congregational Church in Clintonville for a number of years. He was also a people person, often visiting the neighbors. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
