Dawn Riemer Obituary

Dawn V. Riemer, age 89 of the Township of Pella, Shawano County., went home to Heaven early Tuesday morning, March 5, 2024 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah.

Dawn Veryl Riemer was born November 9, 1934 in Wausau, WI, daughter to the late William & Gertrude (Schauss) Fraedrich. She attended and graduated from Wausau High School, later attending nursing school and becoming a Registered Nurse. She was united in marriage to Donald Riemer at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau on May 20, 1961. In her younger years, Dawn did needlepoint crafts and knit mittens for everyone at Christmas time. She also enjoyed her time on bowling leagues with her husband. She believed that she was put on Earth to serve others and in doing so she was also serving her Lord and Savior. Her servant heart was on clear display as she delivered and cared for the many newborns at Clintonville Hospital, the way she was devoted to her daughter Kay, and the over 20 years she volunteered at Keller’s Lake Day camp as a nurse. Dawn retired in 1991 after many years of dedicated service. As a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pella, Dawn taught Sunday school for over 50 years, mostly in the nursery room, sang in the church choir, and held multiple positions in the church. She could cook or bake a delicious dish with any vegetables or game that came into the house. Packing pickles seemed to be an art form when Dawn was on the job. Her later years involved many Bible studies at church and quilting for them to be sent to 3rd world countries. Dawn found joy in the small things in life: loving dogs, reading many books, and generally living life to the fullest. She enjoyed watching musicals and would play them over and over again. She was renowned for her contagious laughter, great sense of humor, positivity, and the ability to laugh at herself. She adored her children and grandchildren, and spending time with them was the light of her life.
