Deborah "Debbie" Kohel Obituary

Deborah “Debbie” L. Kohel, age 71 of the Town of Larrabee, Waupaca County, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, July 1, 2026 at the ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton.

Deborah Lee Heath was born on July 29, 1954 in Baraboo as the daughter of the late George and Dorothy (VonBehren) Heath. She graduated from Baraboo High School in 1972 and was united in marriage to Christopher “Chris” Kohel in Kenosha on August 30, 1986. The couple resided in Kenosha and Paddock Lake where Debbie worked as a cashier at the local BP gas station. In 2007 the couple moved north to their current home in the Town of Larrabee where they enjoyed the peace and quiet of country living during their retirement. In her spare time, Debbie enjoyed working on crafts and things like crocheting, sewing, knitting, and baking. As an avid gardener she was very picky about keeping them weed free. Debbie loved her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those loving her the most: Her Husband: Chris.
Daughters: Terri (Dave) Roe, Christina (Joel) Ritchie, Stephanie Kong, and Liz Martin.
Grandchildren: Isabelle, Bradley, Kayla, Dalton, Dillon, Hayley, Jake, Brett, Logan, and Nathan.
5 Great-Grandchildren.
Sisters: Patti (Keith) Rumisek and Jackie (Daouda) Kamakate.
Brothers: George (Kathy) Heath and Mike Heath.
Also numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents George and Dorothy Heath and by a brother Tom Heath.

Per Debbie’s wishes no funeral services will be held. Her family would like to thank the ThedaCare ER staff and the ICU Team in Appleton for all of their help. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting her family. www.eberhardtstevenson.com
