Debra "Deb" A. (Lutzewitz) Carley

Debra “Deb” A. Carley, age 64, of Marion passed away peacefully Thursday morning, February 27th, 2025 in New London under the loving care of her children and Thedacare at home hospice.

Debra Ann Lutzewitz was born on August 6th, 1960 in Tigerton as the daughter of Elsie (Schoenrock) Lutzewitz and the late Karl Lutzewitz. She grew up in the Marion area where she attended school and began working at Midwest Livestock Producers.  She then worked for sturms in Manawa and had more recently retired from Amcor in New London due to health reasons after having logged over 20 years in the ink department.  Deb was united in marriage to Rick Carley on March 3, 1979 and had 3 children together. The couple divorced after 13 years of marriage and later became great friends. They bought a house in Marion that she lived in for 34 years, where she loved to plant flowers and feed her many birds. She enjoyed watching her birds when they came to visit.  Her favorites were the families of cardinals that would come every year. Deb enjoyed spending time up north RV camping at Laura lake and fishing for perch and walleye. She caught many large fish in her lifetime and was a very skilled and dedicated angler. She also loved hiking, swimming and annual family camping trips at Pine Grove campground. Her life revolved around her family. She spent a lot of time with her mother Elsie and cherished their time together. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She loved and adored her 3 grandchildren very much!  

Deb was very independent and had a great sense of humor. Her main focus in life was to provide happiness and show love to her family and friends, and she worked very hard to do so. She was a very selfless and caring person who will be truly missed. 

Survivors include: her mother: Elsie Lutzewitz.
Daughters: Megan Carley & Amy (Sam Reahm) Carley.
Son: Derek Carley.
Grandchildren: Andric, Aliyah & Isaac.
Sister: Jeanne Blazek

Deb was preceded in death by her father Karl Lutzewitz and her ex husband and good friend Rick Carley.
