Donald W. Roever, age 92 of the Township of Grant, passed away Thursday afternoon August 15, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
Donald William Roever was born March 14, 1932 in the Town of Grant, Shawano County, son to the late William & Malinda (nee. Voigt) Roever. During his early life, Donald lived and worked on his family farm. He was united in marriage to Patricia R. Ortner on April 24, 1954 in Shawano, WI. He worked briefly at Tigerton Lumber Co. until 1957 when he started his career at Marion Plywood as a lathe operator and sander. He dedicated 40 years to Marion Plywood and retired in 1997. Donald was a very avid nature lover. He enjoyed hunting, fishing (especially trout), and going on nature walks. As an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock, he served the Lord and his church faithfully. Donald also loved to drive, he traveled the contiguous U.S. by car and on these road trips he would always explore dead end roads. He knew everything about birds and trees and he would pass down his knowledge to his grandchildren for school projects. Donald will be remembered as a quiet, even-tempered man who loved his family dearly.
Donald is survived by his wife of 70 years, Patricia; children: Judy (Robert) Falash, & Randy (Jennifer) Roever; grandchildren: Christopher (Jennifer) Roever, Micheal (Cathy) Michonski, Nicolas (Norah Holm) Michonski, Stephanie (Scott) Kroening, & Justin (Marta) Anker; 13 great- grandchildren; a sister: Dixie Meyer & a brother-in-law, Joe (Shirley) Ortner
