Donald “Don” V. Augesen, age 58 of the Town of Morris, Shawano County passed away unexpectedly on Saturday July 26, 2025 at the ThedaCare Medical Center in Shawano.
Donald Vernon Augesen was born in California on December 15, 1966 as the son of Magdalena “Maggie” (Schneider) Augesen-Huss and the late Vernon Augesen. He graduated from Wittenberg/Birnamwood High School and began working for Wanta Construction. After a short time he earned his CDL and became an Over The Road (OTR) Truck Driver. Don started out driving his own rig but worked for a number of companies over the years. On one of his trips he met Angie Slaydon and the couple were united in marriage on September 27, 2016. It was a very nice wedding with all of their family and even some friends present. The couple however would later divorce and at that time Don moved back to the Town of Morris where he has lived since. He was still driving truck which was his true love and passion in life. In fact, his truck was loaded for his next trip at the time of his passing on Saturday. Don always took vacation for the Wisconsin deer gun hunting season each year and also enjoyed tending to his vegetable gardens.
Survivors include: His Mother: Maggie Huss.
Sister: Sandra Brady.
Niece: Melanie (Jon) Kulas.
Great-Nieces & Great-Nephews: Korbin, Paylin, Kastin, Kollins, and James.
