Donald "Don" Hartleben Obituary

Donald “Don” E. Hartleben, age 89 of the Town of Deer Creek, Outagamie County, passed away Sunday morning January 16, 2022 at the ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

Donald Eugene Hartleben was born on November 26, 1932 in the Town of Morris, Shawano County near Wittenberg. He graduated from Seymour High School in 1950. Don then enlisted to serve his country in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean War where he spent most of his time in radio communications with the Signal Corps. Don then returned home and was united in marriage to Mickey Brugger on November 4, 1954 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Black Creek. Don worked as a lineman for Wisconsin Electric Power Company until his retirement. He also served as the Town Assessor for Deer Creek for many years. Don and Mickey enjoyed snowmobiling and spent many years western dancing with the Leather and Lace Dance Club. The couple were members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bear Creek. Mickey preceded her husband in death on October 21, 2019. Don certainly had a love for nature and spent a lot of time in his woods and taking care of his property. He looked forward to deer hunting season every year and in earlier years enjoyed rabbit hunting with his beagles. Don was as sharp as they come when it came to a good game of Sheephead. He was also a member of the Clintonville VFW Post #664 and was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
