Donald “Don” K. Pringnitz, age 87 of the Town of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, passed away peacefully at the ThedaCare Medical Center in Shawano on Saturday, January 18, 2020.
Donald Kenneth Pringnitz was born on March 25, 1932 in Tigerton as the son of the late Edward and Martha (Bosin) Pringnitz. He was a graduate of Tigerton High School and later united in marriage to Ruth Tonn on October 15, 1955 at the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville. Over the years, the couple provided a loving, temporary home for 41 children. Don worked for a number of places throughout his life and retired as a custodian for Bear Creek Schools. Don & Ruth were faithful members at Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville where Don enjoyed volunteering often. One of his favorite church projects was using his passion for woodworking in creating the Nativity Scene for the church’s altar. Don also enjoyed working on houses and was a proud part of the Habitat for Humanity in town. He was a social bug and liked playing dartball with friends and visiting his lake neighbors on his gator. Don was the last remaining member of his Wausau hunting party known as the “Red Beret’s”; a yearly tradition he always looked forward to. Don really missed Ruth since her passing in 2017, and is now reunited with his best friend. He always kept his faith in his Lord and tried to set a good Christian example throughout his life.
