Dorothy Redman Obituary

Dorothy A. Redman, age 89 of Tigerton, passed away on Monday evening, March 4, 2024 at Care Partners Assisted Living, Clintonville.

Dorothy Ann Redman was born November 2, 1934 in Sister Bay, WI, daughter to the late Merrill & Elsie (Brandenburg) Saunders. She graduated from Marion High School with the class of 1952. Her mother passed away when Dorothy was still a child; the children were put up for adoption. Harry and Irene Pockat adopted, raised, and helped Dorothy through school. She was united in marriage to Leonard F. Redman on December 13, 1952, at Zion Lutheran Church, Caroline. She held multiple jobs throughout her life, but cherished the time at home raising her children. Because of her experiences as a child, Dorothy always rooted for the underdog and made sure the people in her life who needed help received it. She played organ at Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock for many years, and enjoyed sewing quilts for her church’s ministries. She enjoyed trying her luck at the casinos every once in a while and liked to travel and camp with her family in her younger years. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving mother, who at times had no filter. Her famous fresh baked bread, cookies and chicken soup will be missed by the whole family.

She is survived by her children: Barbara (Dale) Hidde, Marion; Sandra (Robert) Olson, Tigerton; Mark (Dawn) Redman, Marion; & Michael (Carey) Redman, Kaukauna
Daughter-in-law: JoAnn Redman, Pulaski
8 Grandchildren
10 Great-grandchildren
3 Great-great-grandchildren
Sister: Barbara Young, Sacramento, CA
Half-brothers: Dale, Donald, & Robert Saunders

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; a son, Fred; an infant son, Leonard; brothers, William Brockman, Douglas Saunders, Kenneth Saunders, Merrill Saunders, & John Saunders.

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock, with the Rev. Jim Folz officiating.

Visitation will take place on Monday at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service.
