Emma A. Brockhaus, age 93, formerly of Clintonville, passed away Friday, May 5, 2006, where she had been a resident for the past nine years.
The former Emma Anna Schmidt was born June 9, 1912 and was the daughter of the late Herman and Ida (Ratzburg) Schmidt. Emma was united in marriage to Walter C. Brockhaus on February 23, 1931 at Antigo, WI. After marriage, the couple settled in Embarrass and Clintonville area. In the early 1970's, the couple moved to Clintonville and lived on 7th street. Emma worked for a time at the Hansen Glove Factory, and worked for many years at area nursing homes, as a nurse's aid. She enjoyed her family and loved to cook.
Survivors include eight daughters, Tootie (Don) Schoenborn, Wausau, Midge Miller, Shawano, Shirley (Tom) Burow, Neenah, Judy (Jack) Laux, Marion, Diane (Randy) Halifax, Magnolia, TX., Sandy (Harold) Bessette, Manawa, Barb Esler, Decorah, IA., and Sherry (special friend Scott) Gee, Clintonville. There are 27 grandchildren, Jenny, Donna, Sheila, Kaye, Jeany, Jon, Linda, Connie, Sue, Sally, Bonnie, Ron, Jeff, Steve, Julie, Lori, Jerry, Janice, Brian, Brenda, Betty, Brian, Beth Ann, Carrie, Tim, Amy, and Tammy. Further survived by numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives. Emma was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sons, 1 daughter, 3 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 8, 2006 at 3:00 P.M. at the BeiL-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville. Rev. Vilas Mazemke will officiate. Burial will be in the Roseland Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. Monday until the time of the services at the funeral home.
