Erna A. Bock

Erna A. Bock, age 95 of Peshtigo, formerly of Bear Creek, passed away early Tuesday morning October 25, 2022 at Rennes Health & Rehab Center, Peshtigo, WI.

The former Erna Alice Henrietta Heling was born July 29, 1927 in the Town of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, daughter to the late Walter & Hulda (Wissman) Heling. Erna was baptized and confirmed at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville. She was united in marriage to Gilbert G. Wegener on August 30, 1947 at Christus. Gilbert preceded her in death in July of 1969. Erna was later married to Edgar W. Bock at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bear Creek on April 17, 1974. Spiritual life was very important to Erna, she was actively involved with Ladies Aid and Altar Guild at church. She loved baking cookies, canning from the bounty of her garden, fishing with her beloved Edgar, and walking a few miles every week while she was able. Erna also enjoyed a good card game, polka music, a bit of country music, and playing her guitar in her spare time.

Erna is survived by her daughter, Donna (Rod) Francken; a son, Gary (Robin) Wegener; grandchildren, Codie (Casey) Wegener, Clayton Wegener, & Cameron Wegener; a great-granddaughter, McKenna Wegener. She is further survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Gilbert and Edgar; brothers Ervin, Clarence, & Leonard Heling; and sisters, Alice Heling (as a toddler) and Violet Heling (in infancy).

Funeral services will take place privately at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, with the Rev. Aric Fenske officiating. Interment will take place at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Bear Creek.
