Gary Lee Strehlow, age 74 of Marion, passed away at his daughter’s home in Manawa on March 17, 2020 with his children by his side following a short battle with cancer.
Gary was born on September 21, 1945 at the Clintonville Hospital as the son of the late Harold and Lucille (Krieser) Strehlow. He graduated from Marion High School in 1963. Gary wore many hats in life. He drove milk truck for the Marion Cheese Factory, he was a farmer, drove pop truck for Weko, drove cattle truck, worked at Marion Plywood, and loved driving school bus for the past 11 years for the Clintonville School District.
Gary is survived by his children: Sharla (Jeff) Philipp, Doug (Lisa) Strehlow, Scott Strehlow, & Wendy (Wayne) Wendt.
14 Grandchildren: Andrew, Dougie (Michelle), Shannon (Tyler), Amber (Jordan), Johnny, Hailey (Shannon), Shawn (special friend Hannah), & Hunter (special friend Sierra).
5 Great-Grandchildren: Jailyn, Maddie, Carter, Levi, Mia, and another great-grandson on the way.
Special Friend: Nancy Albert.
His Sister: Darla (Vilas) Kratzke.
His Sister-in-law: Carla Strehlow.
Also nieces & nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; Harold & Lucille Strehlow, a brother; David, as well as another brother & sister in infancy.
As per the COVID – 19 restrictions, a private funeral will be held for Gary at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Marion with Rev. Karen Riemer officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenleaf Cemetery in Marion. A future public celebration of Gary’s life will be held at a later date once restrictions are lifted. www.eberhardtstevenson.com
