Germaine Draeger
Germaine Draeger, age 86 years, of Marion passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Pine Manor Health Care Center, Embarrass.
The former Germaine Buss was born June 14, 1919 in Marion to the late Otto and Martha (Krause) Buss. On May 29, 1943 she was united in marriage to Clarence O. Draeger at St. John's Lutheran Church, Marion. Germaine began teaching in country schools of Embarrass State, Manawa, and Caroline. She went on to Clintonville Junior High School where she taught mostly mathematics for 27 years. Germaine's teaching career spanned 36 years and she retired in 1983. She is a former president and member of the Waupaca County Teacher's Association. Germaine is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was active at church in WELCA, the Altar Guild, and is a former Sunday school teacher and choir member. Germaine volunteered for many years at the Clintonville food pantry and also helped deliver for the "meals on wheels" program.
Survivors include a son, Leslie (Sally) Draeger of Marion. Three granddaughters; Jessie (Ken) Williamson of Marion, Jenny (Steve) Rabe of Marion, and Casey (fianc Ryan Rindt) Draeger of Clintonville. A great grandson, Blake Williamson, a sister, Dorothy Gruenstern and a brother, Roy Buss, all of Marion. Further survived by many other relatives and friends. Germaine is preceded in death by a son, John in 1967, and her husband, Clarence in 1975.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 15th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Marion. Rev. Susan Sheffer-Meyer and Rev. Tom Meyer will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Marion, and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
