Harold W. Watters
Harold W. Watters, age 79, of 1537 Lakeshore Drive, Menasha, and formerly of Caroline, WI. passed away Saturday, April 29, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton, WI.
Harold Walter Watters was born June 26, 1926 in the Town of Grant, Shawano County, and was the son of the late August and Irene (Huebner) Watters. As a young man, he was raised on a farm near Caroline, WI., and served in the U.S. Marine Corp, after WW 2, with the occupation forces in Japan. He was united in marriage to Anita K. Kusnifski on October 2, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church, Caroline. Harold owned and operated Watters Heating & Plumbing from 1960 to 1980, in Menasha and held a master plumbers license. He continued the heating business, retiring in 1987 to Caroline, WI. Harold was a member of Bethany Evangelical Free Church, Clintonville, WI., and was a member of Ridgeway Golf Club, Neenah, the American Pheasant & Fowl Org., and the Caroline American Legion Post #456, and enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and was an avid sportsman. The couple also enjoyed wintering in Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Anita, four sons, Calvin (Kelly) Watters, New London, Steven (Sue) Watters, River Falls, Dan (Jeanne) Watters, Gulf Breeze, FL., Lee Watters, Lewisville, TX., and one daughter, Gail (Jim) Woulf, Menasha. There are fifteen grandchildren, Wendy Watters, Angie Watters, Amanda Siebers, Nick Siebers, Jed (Katie) Watters, Emily Watters, Kalen Watters, Jesse Watters, Henry Watters, Abraham Watters, Kyle Woulf, Rachel Woulf, Taylor Woulf, Zack Watters, and Cortland Watters. Also two great-grandchildren, Addison Watters and Josiah Watters, and special friend of the family, Rita Rollins. Harold was preceded in death by one son, Ben, one brother, James, and two sisters, Germaine "Mickey" Mehlberg, Bernice Atwell.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethany Evangelical Free Church, 264 N. Main Street, Clintonville, WI. Rev. Kurt Hettinga will officiate, private burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Caroline. Friends may call Tuesday, May 2, 2006 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the BeiL-Didier Funeral Home, 299 S. Main Street, Clintonville, WI 54929, and Wednesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services. The family would like to extend their thank you to the doctors and staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital.
