Irene Lillian Koeller

Irene L. Koeller, age 93 of the Township of Larrabee, Waupaca County, passed away on Wednesday January 26, 2022 at Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville.

Irene Lillian Koeller was born November 9, 1928 in the Township of Pella, Shawano County, daughter to the late Arnold & Martha (Schwenke) Koeller. She attended both Pella Rural & Morningstar Grade Schools, and later graduated from Clintonville High School with the class of 1946. In her younger years, Irene was very active, playing softball for many years and bowling as well. She also loved the outdoors in warm and cold weather; cross-country skiing and walking. As the eldest daughter, and an LPN, Irene took responsibility and nursing care of her disabled brother, Roger, who needed constant care. She was a dedicated member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Pella Opening where Irene enjoyed helping with the Ladies Aid and taking part in Bible study. Although she never had any children of her own, Irene took joy in having seven God-children and many nieces and nephews. Her garden was always fabulous and she took pride in the vegetables grown, as well as flowers, like her Morning glories and her flowering Christmas cactus. She really enjoyed making quilts in her spare time and volunteered for many years at the thrift store in Shawano. Irene will be remembered for her cheerful sense of humor and the cherished time spent with family at their reunions and get-togethers throughout the years.

Many nieces, nephews, God-children, & other relatives.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Elder (Betty) Koeller, Carston (Merna) Koeller, Luella (Marvin) Schlender, & Roger Koeller; as well as a sister-in-law, LaVerne Koeller.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Pella Opening, with the Rev. Todd Jerabek officiating. Interment will take place at the parish cemetery, Town of Pella.

Visitation will start at 10 AM on Tuesday at the church, until the time of service.
